Blood splatters as a man in blue jeans and boots recoils, reflexively covering his face with his arms. An enormous spider rears up in attack exposing a red hourglass pattern on its underside. The hint of a human face can be seen on its back. — WALTER'S END (2003), Oil on Panel - 28" x 18"

I found this scene from The Dark Tower (Book 7) so horrific that it was a real challenge to see if I could nail it. I used myself as a model and painted it quickly to blur the lines-and not have to dwell on it too long!
