I would love to see a list of all the book covers and other art Michael has done over the years. Back in the 80/90's I would go to used bookstores and pull each book out and see if it had a Whelan cover. I have a huge collection, but it would be great to have a reference, as I'm sure there are some gems out there that I'm missing.
That's a great suggestion! I was thinking about doing something like a "year in review" of covers at some point. Just have to figure out where to start. There is a bibliography page on the website that lists all of Michael's original covers (no secondary rights or international) in case you need a checklist.
I may work in "dogs of the year," which is something Michael used to do at conventions. He would call out his least favorite work and...well, I'll see if we can find photo documentation of what happened to those paintings.
I've had this hanging on my wall since it was released. I love it - I feel like it's a metaphor for my life <3
