Just stunning... the copper heart elicits deep memories. Your imagination/insight -- painting an image "the way it was meant to be" -- and mastery in portraying light combine to thrill our souls, Michael.
One of the Crown Jewels of my MW paintings. The Portal pictures are deeply meaningful to me as Michael knows from prior communications. I confess I am hopeful that he has another Portal or two to share as he proceeds into the new works of Personal Visions.
One of the subtexts of meaning in this apparently simple piece is a topic I’ve explored in a number of works [like ELLIE’S DREAM, for example]: my desire to see man—or even more important, WOMAN—step on the moon again. I feel it’s absolutely essential for us to find our way out into space, and at the time I had painted this it seemed to me that there was nothing but talk about it…no concrete action to make it happen. It’s a shame to have let manned space exploration wither for so many years.
But all that seems to be changing, and I await the next steps in that direction eagerly. Meanwhile, I can hope, and send my spirit flying…
I agree absolutely! I think that the effort to extend ourselves beyond the limits of our own planet is essential not only to our survival as a species but is of paramount necessity to our personal growth and development.
My spirit is uplifted and soars each time I look at this painting and now I have an even deeper appreciation of why that is the case. I think we will achieve the goal as long as we have creative people like you to inspire us!

Thank you.

Thanks Joe!
