I've got numerous photos of Michael I took over the decades at various conventions and exhibitions, including with your old Art Center professor. No to mention those shots of you taking out the garbage in Connecticut! My only regret years later is that I was never able to afford you for a Science Fiction Chronicle cover!

"Outbound" on the website gallery page doesn't mention the award you won, and I don't see a page that lists awards. Would it be possible to compile such a list of all your well-deserved awards?
That's a great suggestion. I started to compile a list of rewards on the Bibliography page. While it's not a complete list (it includes the Hugos, Locus, Chesleys, Spectrum), you'll find that in the right column here:
It is wonderful to read about your early days and hear how you were "discovered". I admire you for the courage to take advantage of the opportunities that came along. It must have felt amazing in regard to the feedback and offers made for your work at the beginning. As a bookseller since 1983 I have had the honor of seeing the influence of your covers on readers. I also know the influence your work has had on Jonn's music. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Great reminiscence! Ah, back when the San Diego Comic Con was more niche and less circus, but all the right people were there to see your work. Outbound is another beautiful piece, thrilled it worked out so well the last 50 (gasp) years.

If you’d care to share, I’d love to see those photos, Andrew.

Hi Michael,
I wish you had quoted my dad's letter to you--he never wrote another one like it.
As you know he was not one for flattery!
xxbetsy
I'll have to ask Michael if he still has it. We've talked about it a few times over the years but not specifically what was written. Now I'm curious.
Audrey framed it for Michael's 50th birthday--he should still have it (I doubt he would have thrown it away.)
BTW: Is DAYS of GRASS still available? Or was it sold?
thanks,
Betsy
Oh, he should still have the letter then. I'll ask this morning.
The cover for DAYS OF GRASS is still available.

In retrospect, your success seems inevitable. But I'm sure it was nerve-wracking at the time!
