Dalinar stands atop the tower of Urithiru with his hand thrust out toward a massive storm that forms a tight spiral of purple and blue clouds. At the outer edge of the spiral turbulent clouds give way to pale blue sky barely visible over the tall peaks. Forks of lightning stab at the mountains that fill the vista. In the sky beyond the storm, clouds seem to unravel in loose waves, dark orange over a warm yellow sunset. Ice forms on the top of the tower, the surface shining as it catches light. On the perimeter, a low railing connects supports topped with colorful spheres that represent the orders of the Knights Radiant. Below the roof, thin classical columns form a ring around the tower. The ridge intersects the tower in the foreground left. Alien life pokes through the snowy slope with tall onion like buds, iridescent purple and green.

Coming to our shop Tuesday, December 17 at 11am EST

One of the best perks of being a paid supporter is receiving previews of originals before the art is listed in our shop.

This week, we will be releasing color preliminary concepts and studies for WIND AND TRUTH, Michael’s last cover for the Stormlight Archive and likely the last cover assignment of his career. This is the first of several offerings from this cover.
