This cover was for the sixth book in a series by Fritz Leiber featuring the beloved characters Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser. The author had been writing about their adventures for almost 40 years, and each book in the series was an anthology of stories that had been published in other books and magazines.
Rather than trying to illustrate a scene from one particular story, I decided that the best approach for the cover was to do portraits of the heroes.

I remember this one. I read most of the works by Fritz Leiber and this brought back such good memories. The image alone brought such joy as I came upon it. Thank you.
That's a great one. My favorite sword and sorcery duo. Amazing detail. Just how many skulls are there in that mountain? 12?
