This painting rose from my desire to revisit thematic ground that inspired my first gallery show at Tree’s Place back in 1997.
As the orb, a symbol from my Passage series, moves past the architecture of personal realities, we discover what lies beyond our limited perception.
Doorways in my Portals paintings represent the idea of shifting from one state of mind to another. We find freedom by moving toward light and space beyond all barriers and confinement.

I've loved your artwork since I first saw your work on my favorite Science Fiction books - my father bought the first C. J. Cherryh book I ever read and you painted that cover. I saw your personal artwork at the 1984 Worldcon and was struck by how luminous it was. Your style has certainly changed and gotten even more beautiful.
"We find freedom by moving toward light and space beyond all barriers and confinement." I love this idea of freedom coming from or search for light and space. I'm christian, so this hits home in our search for the one true light in a world so filled with hatred, sins and judgment. Cheers from Brazil!
