In total, Kenneth Bulmer—writing as Alan Burt Akers—published 52 books in the Dray Prescot series. DAW began publishing his books in 1972, and the three covers I worked on came in the first years of my career.

Bulmer wrote the kind of Sword and Planet stories meant to appeal to readers of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Teleported from Earth—just like John Carter—Dray Prescot is thrust into an alien world set in the dual star system of Antares.
