For fans of Alan Dean Foster’s Commonwealth books, this is one of the best of that series. The MW painting captures perfectly a key element of the story. I had an opportunity to meet Mr Foster at a long ago DragonCon and he told me how much he liked this particular cover art. While my preferences for MW art generally tend towards his personal works, I do note that he always nails it when doing book covers. For many artists I shake my head after finishing a book and wondering what the cover art was meant to convey. For Michael’s art however, I feel like his images have been pulled straight out of my thoughts because he captures perfectly the characters and settings.
Also weighing in to say this is a favorite.

One of my favorites of your works. It really evokes a delicate and profound moment. Plus, love the colors.
