LEGENDS: THE GUNSLINGER
Illustration for the Legends anthology edited by Robert Silverberg

Stephen King doesn't describe the tower in the early books of the Dark Tower series, but many of the main characters experience dream visions of the object of their quest. I offered my own for the frontispiece of Legends, an anthology of prequels by best-selling authors published in 1999, which included a Dark Tower story.
The painting has two dates because I substantially repainted the original in 2000, and it's different from the image that appeared in the book.
Look closely and notice the fingers of Roland's shooting hand are accurate to the text.
