It’s hard to do a portrait of a legend, particularly when there aren’t any good photos to work from. Here Robert Heinlein makes his exit, clad in the robe he was wearing the only time I met him in person.
The painting was executed in a technique that layered brilliant colors, with the top layer partially obscuring the lower ones.
