A decade after his death, Ace acquired rights to H. Beam Piper’s catalogue and began republishing classic paperbacks originally released years earlier.
Instead of a manuscript, Charles Volpe usually just gave me a copy of the earlier version of the book to read and work from, but this was the first publication of collected Federation stories.
