This early science fiction piece was commissioned by DAW and later collected in my first art book Wonderworks. It was the first of three covers illustrated for Jo Clayton. Lamarchos (book 2) followed directly, and Quester’s Endgame (book 9) concluded the Diadem Saga a decade later.
